Door Intercom for the FRITZ!Box

ESENTA SIAS registers with your FRITZ!Box just like a regular IP phone. A press of the bell rings your FRITZ!Fon, DECT and landline phones, with two-way audio and door release at the push of a button. Fully local on your home network, with no forced cloud and no monthly fees.

How the integration works

In millions of households the FRITZ!Box already is the phone system. ESENTA SIAS makes use of exactly that. The outdoor station is added to the FRITZ!Box as a telephony device (LAN/WLAN IP phone); you'll find the step-by-step guide in the SIAS user manual.

When a visitor rings, SIAS calls the phones of your choice, one at a time or several in parallel. You talk to the visitor like on a normal phone call and open the door right from the phone using a keypad code (DTMF).

The ESENTA app can be used alongside it: door calls then reach phones and smartphones at the same time. If you prefer no app at all, the system runs entirely locally; read more on the door intercom without cloud page and in the technical details.

Frequently asked questions

Which FRITZ!Box models are supported?

Any FRITZ!Box with telephony: SIAS is added there as a telephony device of type "LAN/WLAN (IP phone)", just like any other IP phone. No special firmware or add-on modules are required.

Does it also ring on my smartphone?

Yes. Alongside the FRITZ!Box integration you can use the free ESENTA app (iOS/Android) with live video and door release; door calls then reach phones and smartphones at the same time.

Can I open the door from the phone?

Yes. During the door call you enter a keypad code (DTMF) stored in SIAS. This triggers the door release, including from a FRITZ!Fon.

Does the system work without internet?

Yes. The door call to your phones runs entirely locally via the FRITZ!Box. An internet connection is only needed for the optional app and ESENTA Cloud features.
