Door Intercom as a Free-Standing Pillar

Driveways, gates and barriers often lack a suitable mounting surface for a door intercom. The free-standing ES-CVD2 pillar solves this: it carries the SIAS outdoor station with camera, two-way audio and access via PIN, NFC or fingerprint, anchored exactly where your visitors arrive.

Door communication at the property line

The ES-CVD2 pillar is anchored to the ground and carries the SIAS outdoor station at operating height, right at the driveway, gate or property line. Visitors ring before they enter the premises; you see your guests and talk to them before any gate opens.

Gates, barriers or door openers are switched by the system's relays. Security-critical contacts stay inside the building: with the HU1000V2 security module on a DIN rail, the opening contact sits protected in the house, not in the pillar.

The supply line is straightforward too: besides a network cable, the connection also works via the 2WIP module with two wires and up to 100 m of range, practical for long runs from the house to the driveway. Details on the page retrofitting a door intercom.

Independent of buildings

Opening contact stays in the house

With the HU1000V2 security module, the gate is switched by a relay inside the building, not in the pillar. Even forcing the station open releases no access.

When is a pillar the right choice?

Whenever no house wall or letterbox is available at the desired spot: at driveways, in front of gates and barriers, or on company car parks. The pillar is anchored to the ground and carries the complete outdoor station.

How do power and network get into the pillar?

Classically via a network cable in a conduit. Where none exists, the 2WIP module is enough: it carries power and data together over two wires, with up to 100 m of range from the building to the pillar.

Can the pillar also open a gate or barrier?

Yes. The system's relays switch door openers, gates and barriers, on request via the HU1000V2 security module, which keeps the opening contact protected inside the building.
